Ezekiel Wells is a proud Pacific Northwest Native. Born and raised in the Portland Metropolitan area. Ezekiel faced many obstacles as a youth and young adult. In response to his adversities, Ezekiel made a vow to be the change he wanted to see in the world.
Ezekiel's story is one of inspiration and encouragement for all. Finding hope in the pursuit of his education and the inspiration of helping others, Ezekiel became the first in his family to receive his Associates Degree from Clark College, as well as his Bachelors Degree in Social Work from Eastern Washington University. After graduating Ezekiel began his lifelong journey of Restorative Justice work at the Clark County Juvenile Court; where he served in the Detention Alternative Unit. Relying on the strength of community partners Ezekiel worked to provide justice involved youth with constructive detention alternatives to repair the harm done and provide positive reintegration back into the community. In his time at the Clark County Juvenile Court, Ezekiel regularly facilitated weekend Restorative Justice Circles, providing safe spaces for healing, restoration and growth.
Now Ezekiel works as the Reentry Program Specialist of Education Navigation, serving currently and formerly justice involved individuals. Ezekiel works to provide incarcerated individuals with the tools and resources they need to achieve their educational goals and transition successfully back into society. As a reentry and restorative justice advocate, Ezekiel understands the many challenges that individuals incarcerated face and is dedicated to helping them build a brighter future.
In his work in correctional facilities, he meets one-on-one with individuals to develop personalized release plans of action. He recognizes that pursuing educational goals is one of the most effective ways for formerly incarcerated individuals to build new lives and break the cycle of recidivism. Ezekiel's approach is grounded in empathy, respect, and a deep understanding of the challenges many face. Through his work, he strives to advocate for restorative justice practices that address the root causes of incarceration and promote rehabilitation and healing. Ezekiel is committed to empowering individuals to define their own paths and reach their full potential, regardless of their past circumstances.
